KUALA LUMPUR, 3rd October 2018 – Malaysian Warriors Australian Rules Football Club (“Malaysian Warriors”) are hosting the iflix AFL Asian Championships, which is set to be the largest ever Australian Rules Football tournament in the Asian region. The tournament will see the best Australian football clubs in Asia compete for the title of AFL Asian Champion.

The event will be held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, Oct 13 and will see 21 teams from across 15 countries, including the inaugural AFL Asia Women’s Division. The hosts, Malaysian Warriors, will be defending their championship title this year. The tournament will be streamed live exclusively on iflix for the first time, across Asia and Australia. Senior AFL reporter at FOX sports, Tom Morris, will be bringing his expert knowledge as the official event commentator. The event also features Auskick, for children aged between 5 to 12 years old. Admission is free, and visitors can enjoy food stands and free activities including a bouncy castle on the day.

Over 500 competitors will take part, including with the first ever women’s Division being played outside of Australia. We also welcome our official AFL Media partner and Asian Champs MC, Tom Morris. Tom is a Senior AFL Reporter at Fox Sports and we’re thrilled to have him join us for the Asia Champs.”

The tournament is an exciting milestone for AFL Asia, signifying the growth and popularity of the sport in its 19-year history. “We’re all set for an amazing showcase of Aussie Rules football as the biggest Asian Championships gets underway on October 13th.
